Guidelines for contributors and how our tier system works
How IdeaRoost Works
The Basic Flow:
- Product creators submit ideas and fund them with a budget
- Contributors (you) provide feedback on these ideas
- Creators award karma points for helpful feedback (max 10 per idea)
- Contributors earn money based on their tier level
The Tier System:
There are 4 account tiers: Egg (starter), Chick, Pullet, and Rooster (expert). Everyone starts as an Egg. As you earn karma points from grateful idea creators, you advance through the tiers.
Important: Egg tier users don't earn money yet - this is a probation period to ensure quality. Once you reach Chick tier (5 karma points), you start earning for every piece of feedback you provide!

Quality Feedback
Provide thoughtful, constructive feedback that helps creators improve their ideas
Be Respectful
Maintain a professional tone and respect different perspectives and approaches
Stay On Topic
Focus your feedback on the specific idea and questions presented by the creator
Don'ts
Spam or Low Effort
Avoid generic, copy-pasted, or minimal responses that don't add value
Offensive Content
No harassment, hate speech, or inappropriate content in any form
Self-Promotion
Don't use feedback as a way to promote your own products or services
Account Tier Reset Warning
In addition to awarding karma points, idea creators can dispute your comments. For every 10 disputed comments you receive, your account tier will be reset to a new account status, so please be mindful and respectful of any feedback you leave.
Payment Information
Stripe Account Required
To get paid, you need to create an account with Stripe through the Stripe account settings page.
Payment Schedule
Payments happen within 14 days after the end of the month.
Minimum Payout
You will need to earn at least $5.00 to qualify for a distribution.
Processing Fees
Your total distribution will be your earnings amount (visible in the earnings box at the top of the screen) minus any processing fees.
